This house plan is for a family home. It’s shown in this floor plan as a three bedroom house plus study, bit the study could of course be a fourth bedroom or a guest bedroom.

Privacy is a key feature of this family home, and the house design accommodates a clear separation of public and car entry from the street, and the interior is similarly separated into a more public living/family room zone and a private bedroom zone, with all private spaces sharing a terrace – the ideal place to grow a grapevine or wisteria, perhaps.

Sloping ceilings in the living rooms are expressed by the tall windows in each gable end. The living room itself, rather more formal than the family room, opens directly off the entry foyer. The family room incorporates the dining space and kitchen in an open plan arrangement. You can control the degree of separation between the family and living rooms with the double cavity sliding glazed doors.

All the living spaces open out on to two pergola terraces via folding doors, as do all the bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, the other bedrooms share a full bathroom, and there is also a guest toilet off the entry foyer.
