This is a large single storey home - for people who don’t like stairs!

With a layout like a bird in flight, the central body houses the open plan living rooms with high sloping ceilings, while the side wings contain the garage and study to the west, and bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry to the east, all with horizontal ceilings and all under a low pitched spreading protective roof. The passage in the bedroom wing extends in height to the roof, where it is capped with a double glazed window along the ridge.

Public approach is well separated from private outdoor areas: entry is from the south under the generous overhanging roof, into a foyer that links the garage wing with the living rooms.

Outdoor spaces on the north side offer a choice of shade or full sun, while the dining room and kitchen look out on to a cool water-splashed fernery.
