The perfect holiday or retirement home, this design features a deep gable roof over an double-height open-plan living and dining room, with a mezzanine gallery above the kitchen and the stair tucked in behind.

The downstairs bedroom opens to the veranda and is beside the bathroom, which is accessible to all rooms while separated by the passage from the kitchen.

The main roof continues to the south to provide a car or boat port (with storage above), and shelter for the back door. Simple to build, cool in summer and cosy in winter - an economical, compact and very clever design.
