This design draws some inspiration from Art and Craft houses of the early years of last century, particularly the work of Chapman Taylor - a deceptively simple and compact L-shaped house.

A two storey block containing bedrooms upstairs and living rooms on the ground floor abuts a single storey wing containing a double garage, visitor’s toilet, and laundry. The entry is at the intersection of the two wings (which form a sheltering courtyard) and gives easy access to all rooms.

The family-dining room has French doors out to a morning patio, and is separated from the living room by a two-sided fireplace with cupboards and bookshelves beside it. In addition, the living room opens to a north terrace through French doors.

Upstairs are four bedrooms - the main bedroom has an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, as well as a north facing balcony with French doors, and two of the other bedrooms are doubles. All ceilings upstairs are sloping.
