About the home this two storey house design will give you:
A one and a half storey house design, with a veranda all round, and an attached double garage with a studio loft. While reminiscent of classic and traditional New Zealand house forms, this house is nevertheless as modern as any in its layout and appointments.
The house is approached from the south (east optional), either by car directly into the double garage, or on foot up the steps to the veranda and front door. The foyer inside has the stair to the loft on the left, the glazed double doors to the living room straight ahead, and the formal dining room, with its mullioned bay window, to the right.
The living room is partly double height - it extends up to the roof with its own high level dormer window, and the loft gallery is suspended above the doors from the foyer. The family room opens off to the east side of the living room behind the fireplace, and the laundry beyond acts as a link to the double garage. The kitchen is adjacent to the family room, separated only by a raised servery. Note that the veranda roof has glazed sections above room windows, to maximise natural light into those rooms.
The studio loft can be used as a guest suite, home office, home theatre, additional bedrooms, storage - what ever you need, it can probably accommodate!
The main bedroom can be opened to the living room by sliding doors, and like the living and family rooms, has French doors out on to the veranda. An ensuite bathroom is adjacent, but able to be used also by guests or family. The study can also be used as a guest room, or a fourth or fifth bedroom. Rooms in the loft space include two twin bed bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, and a bathroom, all served by a gallery open to the living room below.
