About the home this two storey house design will give you:
The columned front entry leads to a foyer, with the open stair to the right rising to a gallery above, the passage to the downstairs bedrooms (and double garage beyond) to the right, and doors to the living room straight ahead - note the formal axial relationship of the entry, foyer and living room.
The two downstairs twin bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and French doors open to the outside north terrace. Also served by the passage are a guest toilet, a bathroom with shower, spa bath and vanity basin, and laundry.
The living room has a fireplace and hearth flanked by (optional) bookshelves, cupboards and a fuel store, French doors out to the north terrace, and glazed double doors to the conservatory. This latter space also has French doors out to the north terrace, and its own fireplace and hearth, and is open to the kitchen.
The main bedroom upstairs has French doors that lead out to a north facing deck, a walkthrough wardrobe/dressing area, and an ensuite bathroom. There is also a storeroom in the roof space off the gallery, and a studio, with dormer windows on both sides, at the east end of the house.
The skylight at the head of the stair, above the gallery, allows natural light to flood the stairwell and foyer below. Ceilings of upper floor rooms generally slope, following the lines of the roof above.
